Internationally renowned electric violinist Brandon Woods is bringing his first ever concert
Internationally renowned electric violinist Brandon Woods is bringing his first ever concert "Brandon Woods Live" to Yarrilee State School Hall.

WHAT'S ON: Brandon Woods to light up the stage

VIOLINIST Brandon Woods first performed on stage when he was 9, coming second place in a Hervey Bay talent quest.

The now-18-year-old has worked so hard at his craft that he is studying a Bachelor of Music at QUT in Brisbane, is booked for large-scale events throughout the country, like the Ekka, and has more than 5500 fans on his official Facebook page.

"The difference between then and now is that I've created my own brand as I've formed into an artist and have written my own original music," Brandon said.

"I would love to tour the world.

"My venue goal is to perform in the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

"I've been there so many times to see many concerts and I always dream of myself being up on that stage."

Brandon, who plays both the acoustic and an electric violin, now has his sights firmly set on the future, with some exciting adventures already in the pipeline.

He has released three singles online - Pulse Rider, Cyberfiddle and Vortex - and was chosen by a talent agency to compete in the instrumental section of The World Championships of Performing Arts in July, which is a worldwide event held in Long Beach, California, involving 40-plus countries.

"I was excited (when approached by the talent agency) but I felt I was faced with a challenge ... in a good way, of course!"

Before Brandon heads overseas, Fraser Coast residents will have the opportunity to see him perform live at the Great Hall on Thursday, April 21 - and he can't wait.

"After my first live concert in Hervey Bay on July 2015, I had a vision of showcasing my music in a much more large-scale venue, with a revamped set list featuring my new music and some old favourites.

"Finally that vision is turning into a reality.

"The audience can expect an electronic violin spectacular featuring my original music as well as covers, and anyone of any age is welcome."
