HMAS MARYBOROUGH FREEDOM OF ENTRY

When: Saturday, from 11am.

Where: March begins from Queens Park, Maryborough.

What: Watch HMAS Maryborough (II) crew march down from the park along Sussex St towards the War Memorial to demand Freedom of Entry. The effort is to the 75th HMAS Maryborough (I) launch anniversary. Attend the commomeration service at the Maryborough War Memorial from 11.45am.

Cost: Free.

URBAN FARM AND PIER UP-MARKET

When: Saturday, 7am-1pm.

Where: Pier Park, Urangan.

What: Stock up on your fresh fruit and vegetables at the newly opened Urban Farm, which now runs every Saturday. Browse more than 100 stalls of genuine quality products, sit back and enjoy freshly cooked food while listening to professional musicians, then take home some fresh local or organic vegies from our regular providers.

Cost: Free.

KOALA COUNT

When: Saturday 8am until Sunday 5pm.

Where: Fraser Coast region.

What: All Fraser Coast residents who spot a koala can ring 4190 5737 or 4190 5738 or report the sighting online at www.koalatracker.com.au as part of the Fraser Coast Koala Count.

Cost: Free and rewarding.

ILLUMINATION PARADE & CONCERT

When: Saturday, from 4pm.

Where: Seafront Oval, Scarness

What: The Illumination Parade and Concert represents the annual migration of the humpback whales that return to Hervey Bay's pristine waters each year to rest and play. This year the Illumination Parade and Concert will be headlined by Ella Hooper.

Cost: Free.

CONCERT AFTER PARTY

When: Saturday, 10pm till late.

Where: Torquay Hotel, 412 Charlton Esplanade, Torquay.

What: From 9.45pm Saturday, catch a shuttle bus from the Illumination Concert and Parade to the pub. Band 'Third Time Lucky' will perform, but chance to join for a drink with musical artists from the Illumination Concert and Parade.

Cost: Free shuttle bus ride and entrance.

ANTIQUE RETRO COLLECTABLE FAIR

When: Saturday, 8am-4pm

Where: Main pavilion at Maryborough Showgrounds

What: 'Like shopping in an old department store' with 30-40 stall holders and supporting giveit.org.au goods for food causes.

Cost: $8 adults and children under 14 are free

SIXTY AND BETTER SOCIAL DANCE

When: Saturday, 6.30pm-10pm.

Where: Dan Dinna House, 459 Boat Harbour Dr, Torquay.

What: Join in sequence and old time dancing under coloured lights in air-conditioned comfort with the Sixty and Better Social Dance group. Please bring a plate of sandwiches or cakes for supper. All proceeds go to the Sixty and Better Healthy Ageing program. Phone Errol on 0427 819 728.

ADDICTIVE DRAMATICS YOUTH THEATRE PRODUCTION

When: Friday, 7pm; Saturday and Sunday, 2pm.

Where: ZPAC Theatre, Scarness.

What: Addictive Dramatics Stage Left Group presents Melodrama, Mayhem and Other Madness. This is the newest theatrical product to issue from one of our top acting academies for youngsters aspiring to become proficient in performing arts. There are 25 actors aged from 10 to 13 and they are jointly and severally amazing. Three directors have collaborated with the students to fashion a variety of entertainment styles. Skits, melodrama and duologues are included in this clever, funny show.

Cost: Adults $15, children $10. Tickets available at the door 30 minutes prior to the show.

BURLESQUE AT THE BAYSWATER

When: Saturday, from 7pm.

Where: The Bayswater Bar and Bistro, Urangan.

What: Miss Dolly Cakes and Betty Love Rae present their very tasteful burlesque show.

Cost: Free before 10pm.

VETERANS' HEALTH DAY

When: Saturday, 10am-2pm.

Where: Hervey Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, Esplanade, Torquay.

What: Veterans and their families are invited to attend this unique event as part of Veterans' Health Week. It also gives Hervey Bay health professionals an opportunity to showcase their services. There will be a free barbecue, jumping castle and kids' activities.

MCHAPPY DAY

When: Saturday, from 10.30am.

Where: Maryborough McDonalds, Cnr Alice & Ferry Streets, Maryborough

What: $2 from every Big Mac sold from 5am onwards will go towards the Ronald McDonald House. But enjoy kids face painting plus arts and crafts from 10.30am until 2pm. Be serenaded by Hardings House band with Jazz and Blues from noon. Why not buy a burger from Maryborough state member Bruce Saunders at the front counter.

ROCKIN' BLUES

When: 8pm Saturday
