Wide Bay goes for two straight Lord Taverner's wins

CRICKET: Wide Bay's Lord Taverner's cricket side won its first game last week.

Now, weather permitting, they'll go for two straight.

Wide Bay is scheduled to play Western Suburbs but the Yandina venue has already been washed out.

As organisers try to find a venue, Wide Bay coach Simon Gills' main task will be to ensure the boys ride the confidence from its first win in the competition.

"I said to the boys enjoy the win but be prepared to start all over again,” Gills said.

"Everyone enjoyed it but all realised as well that one win doesn't make a year.”

SQUAD: Kynan Hard, Eddy Ryan, Ryan Wilcox, Travis Price, Matthew Jackson, Brendan Grills, Jack Munro, Isaac Kelsey, Matt Springate, Caleb Szegfu, Jaden Heness, Dylan Heycox.
