Woman, 88, knocked off mobility scooter at roundabout

AN 88-YEAR-old woman was knocked off her mobility scooter after being hit by a car at a roundabout on Saturday morning.

The scooter fell onto its side and the woman toppled onto the road.

The driver of the white vehicle responsible left his car to lift the scooter back onto its wheel and assisted the injured woman back into it before leaving the scene. The man is described as being in his mid-20s.

The incident took place at about 11am and occurred at the roundabout on the corner of Torquay Rd and Taylor St.
