Woman crashes car into beer garden

A DRIVER crashed her car through the beer garden of the Granville Hotel yesterday afternoon.

No one was sitting in the outdoor dining area at the time of the crash.

The driver was believed to be a 19-year-old Granville woman.

Witness Drew Wroe knew the driver and said they had waved to each other as she drove around the corner from Odessa Street into Cambridge Street about 5pm.

“I was sitting out the front of the pub and I saw her coming round the corner,” he said.

“Then I heard a big bang.

“I ran around and she was still sitting in the car.

“At least she’s OK.”

The woman was not seriously injured in the crash, which police are investigating.
