Woman dies in crash

A WOMAN has died in a single-vehicle rollover near Tin Can Bay.

Michelle Rae Cook, 49, was killed in the crash on the Tin Can Bay Road at Goomboorian between Tin Can Bay and Gympie about 3.15pm on Thursday.

It is believed her car left the road and hit a culvert before overturning.

Three people, including two children aged 11 and 9, were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

They were taken to Gympie Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was blocked at the crash location, which was near the Matilda servo.

Drivers were told to avoid the area or to remain patient if they were caught up in congestion in the crash’s aftermath.

The Forensic Crash Unit will be investigating the crash in coming days.
