Woman found after two nights in bush near Beaver Rock

A WOMAN who went missing in bushland at Beaver Rock was found on Sunday morning after spending two nights in the bush.

The woman, 51, and her partner were split up when they were bushwalking on Friday afternoon and a search was launched about 2pm.

Maryborough police Sergeant Lance Milwood said the woman was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital early on Sunday morning.

"She is currently seeking treatment for minor scratches, dehydration and a little bit of hypothermia," he said.

Sgt Milwood said the woman was found near the southern heads of the river.

The extensive search had included SES volunteers, the police dog squad, a rescue helicopter from the Sunshine Coast and the police helicopter.
