WATCH: Man assaults pregnant lady at Rockhampton plaza

UPDATE: 4.15pm 

POLICE are requesting public assistance to identify the man who allegedly pushed a heavily pregnant woman at City Centre shop Nina Collection yesterday morning.

Detective acting senior sergeant Scott Ingram of the Rockhampton CIB said the 31-year-old victim had been involved in a conversation with the offender's partner before the main gave her a "fairly substantial shove".

"Her injuries are consistent with bodily harm at this time," Act Snr Sgt Ingram said.

"The incident is quite appalling."

Police are urging the man to come forward and own up for his actions.

UPDATE 3.30pm: THE CITY Centre Plaza staff member involved in an assault this morning is heavily pregnant.

A spokesman from the Queensland Police Service said the woman, who has not yet talked to police, was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

He said it was likely a precautionary move.

The pregnant employee was "pushed and shoved" in a store at a plaza, believed to be Nina Collection, by a man around 10.30 this morning.

It is believed police were on the lookout for a silver Mitsubishi Challenger four-wheel-drive earlier today.

The suspects have still not been taken into custody.

UPDATE 11.30am: POLICE are on the lookout for a silver Mitsubishi Challenger four-wheel-drive after a reported assault at City Centra Plaza this morning.

Initial reports indicate a female staff member from Nina Collection, a store in the centre, has just been assaulted by a man and/or woman.

It is believed the woman has long black hair and is wearing a creamy coloured top, while the man has dark hair and is wearing a light t-shirt and board shorts.

The suspects are believed to be in the vehicle.

BREAKING 10.30AM: POLICE are proceeding to reports of an assault at City Centre Plaza on Bolsover St. 

Initial reports indicate a female staff member from Nina Collection, a store in the centre, has just been assaulted by a man. 

The incident was reported by security at the centre. 

The male attacker was last seen heading East on Archer St.
