Work continues on power substation

MUNDUBBERA’S new $21 million substation should be fully operational early next year.

The substation is almost complete and area operations manager Craig Harris said Ergon Energy had begun commissioning and testing the equipment at the Benhams Road site beside the Burnett Highway.

Work on the substation will continue this weekend.

The main work on Sunday will be to stand a new pole outside the Gayndah substation on the 66kV line that supplies the Mundubbera and Eidsvold substations.

A new isolator also will be installed at the Gayndah substation as part of the works there.
