Fraser Coast's playing stocks have been severely hit with seven players unavailable for the Wide Bay under-19 contest due to various reasons.

Among them are Nick Wyvill, Alex Beatty and Tom Riggs who are on representative duties with Wide Bay schoolboys.

But Fraser Coast coach Wayne Sperling said it was a perfect chance for the other players to showcase their burgeoning talents.

"There are a couple of young fellows who might be too young, but you can only give them a go to see how well they'll go," he said.

"It's a good chance for them and if we can get a good crop of kids to stay together for a couple of years, they could become a really strong outfit."
