Young bull a real champ

THIS year's supreme bull at the Fraser Coast show has more than earned his award.

Oakvale Doo, the 960kg black limousin bull, took out the competition yesterday, leaving his owner Paul Friedman proud as punch.

The Bundaberg-based breeder said the 19-month-old bull was already on the road to success, despite his young age.

"He took out champ in Kingaroy and now here," Paul said.

"We're getting him ready for the Brisbane Royal (exhibition) later on in the year - that's the big one.

"He's probably not in the perfect condition yet, but he's getting there."

While Paul usually breeds his cattle to show, he bought Oakvale Doo when the beast was just eight months old.

"I saw the potential there," he said.
