Youngster joins granddad as Aussie in citizenship ceremony

SIX-year-old Heydon Wilson joined his grandfather as an Australian citizen on Thursday.

The youngster and his mum, Cheryl, were among 22 people to take part in a citizenship ceremony at the Fraser Coast Regional Council chambers in Hervey Bay.

"The family started coming to Hervey Bay to visit my mum and dad who retired here about 15 years ago," Cheryl said.

"Now, except for one brother working in America, we all call Australia home."
