DAY two of the 2011 Maryborough Eisteddfod was just as busy as the last, with hundreds of Fraser Coast schoolchildren flocking to the Brolga Theatre to show their talents in public speaking, speech and drama and musical theatre.

The annual event, which will wrap up on Saturday, has attracted more than 700 entries.

As well as an action-packed program, this year features a vocal and choral master class hosted by adjudicator and former member of the Ten Tenors, Gordon Harris.

To be held today, the class has been described as a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with such an experienced musician and vocalist”. Later in the week the eisteddfod program will feature duets and the instrumentals.

Each of the four categories – vocal and choral, literary, instrumental and speech and drama – are being judged by experienced adjudicators Mr Harris, Dr Helen Lancaster, Adrienne Costello and Jocelyn Watts.
