YOUR STORY: 15-year-old to cycle 300km for cancer research

Mel Swadling's 15-year-old son will take on the challenge of a 300km ride to raise funds for cancer research and he now has his school mates on board.

YOUR STORY:

MY 15yr old son, Liam, has challenged himself to ride 250km in the month of October to raise funds for children's cancer research.

I'm very proud of the effort he has put into this and in fact he has just decided he will upgrade his challenge distance to 300km, that's a lot of pedaling!

Liam has already shown a sense of community spirit by becoming a volunteer youth helper, assisting weekly at the pialba scout group and I'm hoping the community will get behind his fundraising and help him meet his goal.

He has created a team at his school and other kids are signing up for the challenge too.

If anyone is considering sponsoring him, you can choose your amount, payments are tax deductible and all payments go through the site straight to the fund, paypal or credit card. Its a worthy cause, not only for the cancer research but to keep healthy teens like my son off the couch and motivated to get out and do something for their community!
