YOUR STORY: Fraser Coast's top 10 hairdressers
YOUR STORY: People are passionate about their hairdressers on the Fraser Coast with more than 300 readers responding to our Facebook call to name the region's favourite.
We asked our Facebook friends to nominate their favourite hairdresser by commenting and then to vote for their favourite by liking that comment.
The top 10 hairdressers based on the number of Facebook comments made by 10am on Friday were:
1. Tash's Hair House (Maryborough)
2. Cassims Hair Design (Hervey Bay)
3. Hip Happenin Hair (Maryborough)
4. Urban Fringe (Hervey Bay)
5. Mode Hairdressing (Hervey Bay)
Equal 6. Dare Hair Studio (Hervey Bay) and V&S Hair Studio (Hervey Bay)
8. Bliss Organics Hair Studio (Hervey Bay)
Chelsea Champney was one of the readers who nominated Tash's Hair House saying "she is amazing" while Shane Mcduff said Cassims Hair Design provided the "best cut on the coast".
Judy Jackson, who officially takes over Cassims with Deirdre Hobbs on Monday, said they were thrilled to be the Bay's favourite hairdresser.
"We're working hard here to get known out there and I'm just really proud of the work that my girls do," she said.
"It's lovely to have that feedback."
Ms Jackson said Cassie Gunkel would stay on as manager after establishing the business almost 10 years ago.
She said the four staff enjoyed doing colours "but they're beautiful cutters too".
Ms Jackson said the salon would now be open on Mondays, they planned to expand into nails as soon as they found a nail technician and they also intended to introduce a beauty room.
