Zombie invasion of M'boro imminent

BRAAAIIIINNNNS!

Maryborough residents have been warned to watch out for a horde of undead taking over the streets next week.

Advance warning from the Fraser Coast Regional Council has said the Maryborough Markets look to be the target of the zombies.

The "Zombie Walk" is a charity event, which is coming to the Fraser Coast for the first time next Thursday.

Last year almost 20,000 people took part in the Brisbane Zombie Walk and raised more than $24,000 for the foundation.

"We encourage participants to dress up and have fun while raising awareness for mental health and the brain foundation," Fraser Coast community, cultural and family services portfolio councillor George Seymour said.

While the zombies are walking a raffle will be held in the market of items donated by stallholders.

All proceeds of the raffle will go to the Brain Foundation.

All potential zombies will be able to register on the day for the walk from 9am in Queens Park.
