Zonta give comfort to patients

THE DISCOMFORT of a mastectomy will be eased a little for Fraser Coast women after the Zonta Club of Maryborough donated 44 specially-designed cushions to the region’s breast cancer patients.

The cushions were completed at the club’s recent Girls Night In and presented to breast care nurse Angela Wotherspoon, who currently supports more than 35 local breast cancer patients.Twenty-five women attended the night, where they stuffed and sewed the satin-covered cushions.

Girls Nights In are held across the country in loungerooms, boardrooms and community halls – anywhere the girls can get together for a fun night.

The charity event aims to provide support and raise money for breast cancer sufferers.

Zonta Club of Maryborough uses their annual Girls Night In as an opportunity to make the breast cushions.
